Polaris Quilt-A-Long
Polaris is a beautiful, traditional quilt, perfect for using scraps or showing off pretty prints. Polaris is a bright star in the night sky and a heavenly body associated with wayfinding. Though it is named as a single star, it is actually a three star system. As the days get shorter and the night grows long, why don’t we sew our own cluster of stars to light the way through Winter?
As an added bonus, Polaris lends itself to being scrap friendly – whether you want to work literally from scraps or want to use a fat quarter bundle to make a scrappy version of this quilt. I love making patterns scrappy, so I’ll share lots of tips about how to do this, too!
Polaris, or the North Star, is a guiding light in the night sky. Make this confident beginner quilt pattern with just one block. Substitute fat quarters for the star yardage for a fun, scrappy look.

As we kick off the quilt-a-long, I’m going to share some tips and tricks for choosing colors and fabrics for Polaris, but I also put together some fun, scrappy kits 🎉
Each kit includes 30 fat quarters, 1 yard of fabric for conerstones, and 2.5 yards of background fabric to make a throw quilt (60 x 72 inches) – the pattern, backing, and binding are sold separately.
