WIP Wednesday : Tutorials and Patterns

Here's the #OperationSmiley Quilt I worked on last week! The quilting is less dense than on the previous quilts, and it creates a different effect.

Good Morning!

I attended my third meeting at the Greater Atlanta Modern Quilt Guild last night. Getting together with quilty friends is so much fun! The group has been welcoming and has a wonderful sense of community. Last night, divided into committees in order to begin taking the work of the guild to the next level. I am chair of the charity committee and am excited to work on events and projects that will make our guild a force for good in our community.

I want to take another moment to thank all of you who gave me feedback as part of the fabric giveaway last week! Also, if you missed the Newsletter announcement, our lovely winner is Kate Alicea! I hope the giveaway was a fun experience for y'all, and I hope to do more like it in the future.

Many of you shared in your feedback that you most enjoy tips, tutorials, and how tos like the machine quilting videos and the tshirt quilt mini-tutorials. Thank you for this insight! In light of this, I launched my YouTube channel this week. I will be archiving the mini tutorials from Instagram to this channel to make them easier to find in the future, and I will be using this channel to provide longer, more detailed videos as well.

First sneak peek of Perfect Fit, which will be released in June

The other thing I'm up to is the writing and publishing of my first pattern. Above you can see my little test piece, and I'll be starting my full sample this weekend. The pattern, "Perfect Fit," will launch at the end of June. Make sure you're signed up for the Newsletter to be the first to know! Also, if you are interested in pattern testing Perfect Fit, send me an email at stringandstory (at) gmail.com. I'd love to have one or two more testers, and I'll be sending out the pattern next week.

I hope y'all are excited by what is ahead-- I know I am! I love trying new things and sharing them with you so that you can try them too! As always, you can find me daily on Instagram @stringandstory, and you can receive weekly Saturday morning inspiration by signing up for the Newsletter. And please share my content with your friends so that they can enjoy it and be inspired, too! There's nothing quite as lovely as a community of quilty, creative people.

Finally, one last PSA: Today is mine and Hubster's 4th anniversary (yay!), so this will probably be the last blog for the week as he is taking the rest of the week off, and we have some fun things planned. You can still expect the Newsletter on Saturday, though, and I have my #MachineQuiltingBlogHop practice to do, so stay tuned for that on Instagram.

Happy Sewing!

HollyAnne
