Introductions
First off, WELCOME to all my new quilty friends, especially those who are visiting for the first time from American Patchwork and Quilting! My name is HollyAnne Knight, and it's my job to guide you to quilt with confidence. I am so glad that you're visiting, and I hope you'll stay awhile-- we have a lot of wonderful things happening around here. The best way to follow this blog is by signing up for my newsletter, and the best way to connect with the community is to join the Quilting Rockstars Facebook Group.
My Interview with Pat Sloan on the American Patchwork and Quilting Podcast airs at 4pm today, July 9, 2018! You can listen in live here or watch the podcast feed for the update later this evening.
Summer Stash Busting Challenge
Thank you, too, to all who have been joining me on this Summer Stash Busting Challenge journey! If you're just hopping in, you really will have to go back to the original post to hear the full story, but, essentially, we've spent the last four weeks learning how to organize and use our stashes, and we still have four weeks of fun to go! If you're new, here's an overview of where we've been:
WEEK 1
WEEK 2
WEEK 3
WEEK 4
This Thursday, we'll be talking about Half-Square Triangles (and possibly a bit about flying geese as well). In addition to a blog post here, I'll also be LIVE on Facebook at 11:30am EST (July 12, 2018) demoing some of my favorite HST tips and tricks. I hope you'll tune in!
Lanterns of Hope QAL
Once we got all of our scraps organized (or at least started the rather daunting task), it seemed time to USE them! Since scraps come in all shapes and sizes, we are quilting Lanterns of Hope, a bold, modern log cabin that uses larger scraps or made fabric (for the extra scrappy among us). Even though we're two weeks into the piecing, it's not too late to join! These blocks come together FAST, AND we will be quilting it together next month, so we're really just getting started! Plus, the pattern is now available in 3 sizes: mini, throw, and twin! To jump in:
1) Join the Quilting Rockstars Facebook Group (The block schedule is pinned at the top of the group; be sure to answer the entry questions)
2) Buy a copy of the pattern

If you see your quilt in progress, be sure to share and pin this post! I wish I could have included ALL of the dozens of quilts that are coming together!
Other Stash Busting Goals
My summer goals also included reorganizing my sewing room, getting all my scraps organized, and finishing 6-8 WIPs. So far, I've completed the first, I'm about halfway through the second, and I've completed 1 WIP. I'm glad we still have 4 weeks to go! Over in the Facebook Group, Rockstars have reported getting their scraps organized and finishing WIPs left and right. Way to go, y'all!! Keep up the great work!
